About Us
Who are the Knights of Columbus?
Our Mission
Together, we’re empowering Catholic men to live their faith at home, in their parish, at work and in their community.
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal service organization founded in 1882 by a Catholic priest named Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut, USA.
The organization was established to provide assistance to widows and orphans of deceased members, as well as to support the Catholic Church and promote charity, unity, and fraternity among its members.
Today, the Knights of Columbus is a worldwide organization with over 2 million members in more than 16,000 councils located in many countries around the world.
Members are involved in a variety of charitable and community service activities, including supporting pro-life causes, providing disaster relief, donating to food banks and other charitable organizations, supporting seminarians and other religious vocations, and promoting the principles of the Catholic faith.
